Premiere Pro CS6 & After Effects CS6 – Complex Masking using After Effects directly with Premiere Pro

The masking tools in Premiere Pro leave a lot to be desired, in this tutorial, I explain how you can easily use After Effects to create masks for Premiere Pro. I discuss simple masking scenarios as well as more complex scenarios involving tracking.

Great tutorial, Josh! And thanks for the plug!

The new version of Feathered Crop is called CI Feathered Crop and appears in the “Creative Impatience” folder. It also has a few more options, including a GUI, and the possibility to fill the cropped area with a color of your choice.

On the other hand, if you need an oval mask, you can use the new version of CI Vignette, which will also allow you to fill the outside or the inside with transparent.
